We believe the Bible is God’s word and our foundation for life. Everything we do is rooted in Scripture and centered on Jesus Christ. We recognize that none of us have it all together. We are imperfect people in need of God’s grace. T
he church is not a place for those who have it all figured out, but for those who know they need a Savior. Here, you’ll find a community that seeks to grow, repent, forgive, and support one another as we walk this journey of faith.
Please come as you. We are here to encourage growing into who God is calling you to be. We are serious about our faith, grounded in truth, and committed to serving God wholeheartedly, while extending the same grace to others that He so freely gives to us.
By His grace, we continue to grow — imperfect people shaped by a perfect Savior.
Lake Phalen Community Church was founded in 1955 as a church plant of the Temple Baptist Association. Then known as Gladstone Church, a small group of believers gathered on Frost Avenue with a shared commitment to faithfully teach God’s Word and serve their community. As the congregation grew, so did the need for space. In 1968, our current building was constructed to support the growing ministry and to create a lasting home for worship, discipleship, and fellowship.
Our first pastor, Paul Williams, faithfully served our church for nearly 20 years, laying a strong biblical foundation that continues to shape us today. Our current Pastor Robert Highley has led us faithfully for over 30 years and counting! He has carried that legacy forward with steady leadership and a deep commitment to Scripture. We are grateful for the faithfulness of those who came before us and look ahead with confidence in what God will continue to do.
While our name has changed over time, our mission has remained the same: to honor God, proclaim His truth, and walk together in humble dependence on His grace.
